Snow haiku #1
This is my first entry for @vdux’s haiku contest on the theme of “snow,” which happens to be one of my favorite things this time of year.
I took this photo of my husband yesterday as we were out walking in the falling snow. He is standing on a dock at the edge of a lake that we walk to year-round. As you can see, there is a marina just beyond, but the boats have all been winterized, as the lake freezes over completely.

Read that as "solid" at first but I like stolid here better. Good word choice!
Thank you, @cizzo! I debated the use of that word. Not everyone is familiar with it. But I decided it was the exact word I needed. 😊

I love that little Thin Ice sign. That is on the boat ramp where trucks back down in summer to put the boats in the water. This time of year, as soon as the ice is solid, people will set up ice fishing huts all over this little bay and it will become an ice fishing village.
