No it doesn't work quite like that...
If you mute them, you cannot see their posts. Therefore you don't have the issue of worrying about what they say! It pisses them off the end as they're doing it for your reaction. In the end, they look like the dick and not you.
No muting doesn't deal with the problem. It will still continue until this place is a desert...
