Are hackers really hacking or exposing government hacking tools and programs?
The headline is reading like another conspiracy theory that cannot be proven, another fool thinking out loud or probably he can't be serious with this level of nonsense.
Folks I have been thinking for some time, are these hacks really hacks. Why would someone or group go through so much risk to request so little reward. Are we missing the big picture or am I fool to think that these hackers have noble intention of alerting me how the government has its eyes and ears on every thing I do. Are they trying to tell us that the freedom we speak of does not exist. Are they trying to expose how these criminals operate that we call the government or civil society. Now let me be very clear, I am not calling any democratically elected government criminals, what I am saying, these hackers are exposing how the activities that they do on a day to day basis are no different from the acts of the people that they put in jail.
Hopefully, most of here are aware of the NSA’s Doublepulsar, a program that is used to infect computers running unsecure Server Message Block (SMB) services – a network protocol predominantly used for providing shared access to files, printers, and serial ports. Basically a way that the keeping track of all corporation, organization, governments, individuals around the world and the list goes on. In fact, the laptop or computer that you are reading this from is probably infected. This probably sounds like a joke to you. Here are two credible articles highlighting the big picture

The sad piece about these two stories, both the government and Microsoft knew of the weakness, Microsoft informed the government of the likelihood that people would soon figure out this weakness and exploit. The government choose to ignore the matter and continued their program. Yep, their program of knowing your business.
I would leave you with these thoughts and share more of the issue as I feel the need to. So its a crazy thought, probably these hackers just do it for the adrenaline or the easy small money that gives the government an opportunity to blast the cryptocurrency community for harboring cyber-criminals. But the next time you read a news headline about hackers requesting rewards that ain't worth the risk, just maybe, they are exposing the very programs that are being used against you.

Well judging by the fact they were claiming to have proof of the Russian hack into the DNC though the FBI and CIA did not have access to the server and just had to trust the word of a third party company that told them it was there, and based upon the fact those of us that know something about hacking know the most they'd have is an IP address and that wouldn't prove shit, then I'd say I am very skeptical when the government makes ANY claims of hacking these days.
They are preying upon the minds of a populace that only knows hacking from watching CSI, NCIS, and other television crime shows where the hacking portions are so fake and unreal it is not even funny. They make it look way easier than it is, as most of the time if the hacker even knows slightly what they are doing you are not going to catch them by analyzing a server. The only way to catch them is with a honey pot, catch them in the act, and physically show up at their location while they are still actively doing the hack. Short of that it is nearly impossible to prove anything of the sort.
Very well said, I am waiting to see the next couple hacks especially any concerning electoral process, that kind of revelation can wreck some ship if people see the big picture.... its a funny world even if you tell folks the truth outright they still question you or say it can't be that obvious that's why conspiracy are so popular, its the only way of keeping their attention for an extended period to help them see the light
Yeb and because people believe in the CSI bullshit they can be liar's even in court. They are not our friends. They really are criminals.
If you get a legal dictionary current in 1933 or early and define every word in the Trading With The Enemy Act of 1913 (not sure about the date), you will get that the public is considered an enemy of the state. People need to understand that if you know you cannot imprison someone than really when they do it they are being criminals Period. The reason is simple really. If you can't do it, you couldn't have voted the right for someone else to do it. Just like not being able to give someone a million dollars because you don't have it.

Really all we need do is ask the question "do I have the right to do that" if the answer is yes than all is well. If the answer is no than something is wrong with others doing it. That is if you are talking morals.
