The attackers introduced the virus into the installer of the latest version of the Syscoin Core 3.0.4.1 client for Windows. Users who downloaded this file from June 9 to June 13 may be victims of virus attacks. This was reported by the creators of Syscoin.

The Syscoin team received messages from users who stated that anti-virus programs were working on an installation file with a warning about an "unknown source".

Later, the company discovered an "unsigned copy" of the Windows Syscoin file into which malicious code was entered, and then uploaded to the official crypto currency page on Github. As it turned out, for this purpose, hackers hacked into account the account of one of the developers of Syscoin.

After the incident, the Syscoin team installed mandatory two-factor authentication on accounts of all developers and verified hashes of signatures.

Earlier ForkLog reported that a group of hackers stole more than $ 20 million through misconfigured customers of Ethereum.
