A SMOKE FREE FUTURE?!?

Anyone who got into the nasty habit of smoking, knows all to well the struggles of quitting. Well I have been thinking of taking the plunge myself. So today while i was at work the smoke rep came and offered this new smoke-free device called an IQOS, claiming it to be the new smoke-free future. I of course asked "isn't it just a vape?" The differences were actually surprising.

So basically the main differences are,
-Its an actual smoke (not a liquid)
-Made by the tobacco company (therefore there are tests done on this product)
-studies prove this one actually works.

Well thats what I got from it. So i decided to research it a little on my own. Heres what i found.

• They use tobacco sticks which contain a tobacco plug designed for heating, not for smoking, made from tobacco leaves, which are ground and made into tobacco sheets, called cast-leaf. Which get turned into astick.
• The holder heats the tobacco stick via an electronically controlled heating blade, which heats the tobacco to temperatures below 350°C. It also has an over-heating protection, which turns itself off if necessary. (So no catching on fire or blowing up like the current ones do!)
• Each stick last 6min or 14 puffs. After each use, the battery in the holder needs to be recharged. - The charger however stores enough energy to recharge the holder around 20 times.
• tobacco is heated, not burned. Therefore, the level of harmful chemicals is significantly reduced compared to cigarette smoke.

-The sticks cost around $75CAD for a carton of 8 packs of 20. (So for those not familiar it around same cost as regular smokes

They even have fancy cases.

Overall, is the device really worth it in the end? Would you buy it? Is it really safe? Im not really sure I don't think ill be sitting in line to buy it thats for sure. I guess it's back to the original plan of quitting cold turkey for me!
