Guitar Gear Review - my Line 6 POD HD-300

in #guitar-trail6 years ago

I bought this great pedalboard by August 2015, it was used (like new) as almost every gear i buy. It was very good deal at that time, although there are newer and better versions, this one still deliver the goods...

The Line 6 - POD HD-300 is the cheapest in the HD line, but it have the same sound quality than the most expensive, the only difference is that it comes with a little less features...

As you can see, the POD HD-300 have less connection options than the HD-500, and also in the software have a few difference, but the sound processor are the same so you can expect same quality sound from both. If you can do without so many fancy connection the POD-HD 300 is a good budget option.

Editing in the front panel is quite simple once you get used, also you can connect the box to a PC and edit through the edit software, which is very cool because it looks very intuitive like a VST simulator, so if you are used to edit guitar rig for example, you will easily use this software...

The sound is very good and professional ready, when i got this equipment i basically forgot about VST because i felt i could achieve more quality sound with this box and it was easy to set up, VST was giving a lot of noise and consuming all my PC processing power, with the POD-HD everything runs smoothly and totally noiseless, i got to record a lot of stuff with this. Although in this year (2017) new gen of VST have arrived and are really giving better results IMO.

The POD-HD-300 is also the perfect gear for live gigs, you can easily connect the equipment to an amp and to a console and have a perfect sound on both, which is very cool, buttons are very comfortable for a live playing situation and looks perfect in dark places...

This is the first video i made testing my POD:

I should make a comparison between the POD and the new gen VST software soon :)

Nice review! I've always been partial to individual pedals to create your pedal board, but I've actually heard some good things about Line 6 as of recently. I know a few people that swear by those Pods.

Individual pedals are great!, but way more expensive and harder to handle on every situation... My next purchase should be an Axe effect, i think i wont be needing anything else then...

This unit are beasts! I have a Pod Hd 500, and i have to tell you man, for the "low price" (compared with the huge systems of our favorites guitar players),this beautys not only make the job, also make our lives better! Great post bro!
