Hello Everyone,

We were waiting for New year surprise. And we finally got a CAT - @GRUMPYCAT. But before jumping to the main topic about the good or bad cat, we must look to our past on Steemit. 2017 got two things as trending, first thing was Steemfest and the second thing was BOTs. There were 35+ bid bots which are still operating. There is nothing wrong with using bots but REWARD POOL comes in the play. Users were misusing bots to get maximum part of the Reward pool.

No one had heard of @grumpycat before, but Actions weigh more than words. Suddenly misusers got flagged for their mistake and that was the end of their play and the way they were cheating with the system. NO WARNING, NO NOTIFICATIONS. These users went to see that who the hell is @grumpycat? Ended up posting irrelevant comments on @grumpcat posts.

Why is @grumpycat doing this?

  • Bid-bot game is well known and it is helpful to bring more attention to your post. The traditional rule of bid bot system on steemit is to bring more attention and interaction to your post.
  • BUT few of the users were paying more attention to their payout rather than focusing on quality content.
  • What such users did is that they post a content with lesser info or sometimes their entire post contains only a single and not known image. After posting they went to bid-bots and make larger bids to get higher rewards.
  • These users wait until the last moment of post-payout, just before 12-hours of payout they make a bid and get all the profit. The main motive behind this trick is to get less-affected by the STEEM/SBD market fluctuations.

Is this action needed?

  • The biggest issue with this bid bot is that they are more vulnerable and 6-day policy was killing the everyday reward pool.
  • Reward pool is the second issue as a bigger amount was wasted on low quality or cheap money sucker contents.
  • The third issue is that what about minnows? In this bid bot cheating, system few dolphins were also involved who were paying a large amount to bring a bigger part of bot cake towards them.
  • The fourth issue is that someone has to do it, Many whales and dolphins were opposing this issue but they ended up with no conclusion. @grumpycat is selected as the public face to solve this issue.

Finally Bot developers understand, and the one who didn't understand, got pawed

A single set of action made the developers of bot to do this...

So @grumpycat is good or bad?

  • Well, the answer is BOTH but in different scenarios.
  • It is good for the peoples who are obeying the guidelines provided by @grumpycat and @steemit.
  • It is bad for the peoples who are here to kill REWARD POOL.
  • In my personal opinion, @grumpycat is doing an awesome job, and the biggest thing is that the support for @grumpycat is increasing day by day.
  • Cheaters have two options either the come on track or find another way of cheating which seems completely impossible.

At Last....

We want @grumpycat as witness

@grumypcat there is a huge support for you as a witness and it will be truly awesome to see you as a witness soon.

That's all in this post....
