MISSION
This proposal discusses an initiative to introduce kids in Lagos State Nigeria to The Blockchain Technology through Education. It reveals how a community minded team: @steem-Lagos seeks to use the massive power of Steemit to enlighten and educate kids on the benefits of using their computers in other ways like, programming, ‘Steemit’ and learning about Blockchain technology.
A wealth of information is available to help us in the planning, design and implementation of a cross training program targeted at kids in Lagos State. We are not subject to a rigid set of rules and standards, which will allows Steem Lagos to set the mark in Africa.<>/h3
The Technology-Oriented program aims to educate kids from different socio-economic background as the team travels across the state and in the future; country to private and public schools.
As we learn from experience, we will adjust the plan to improve the process and the overall benefits to the kids and school employees (teachers, janitors, security, head teacher and others).
PROBLEM
The idea to impress steemians all over the World and not touch actual lives off-Steemit has been paramount, the community celebrates projects but with little or zero encouragement to Live changing activities of people who has no access to the Blockchain i.e old citizens, kids, the incapacitated and all others. Reaching this ones genuinely without any support is hard and we @steem-lagos hope to change the course of that.
SOLUTION
CRYPTO-KIDDIES: LEGO-CODING 001
Introducing Crypto-Kiddies: Lego Coding Powered by Steem/@steem-lagos. An idea to accelerate kids brain power and fast-track them by optimizing Basic and Elementary programming languages with the Blockchain. Steemit has taught us to be selfless. Hence, the @steem-lagos team has decided to spread the word out to the most important age group which are kids from the higher Elementary level to High School.
Although young, they are the future and there is the need to reach out to them. The crypto-kiddies project seeks to empower the minds of kids by reaching out to them a school at a time.
The training program involves the introduction to kids to programming, computer engineering and ultimately, the Blockchain technology using Steemit as a model.
BENEFITS
The benefits of the training program are:
Steem publicity: Increased outreach to teachers, parents and guardians of the kids about the Blockchain social media that is changing lives.
THE CHALLENGES OF STEEM-LAGOS CRYPTO-KIDDIES PROGRAM MIGHT BE ;
- Time
The time to effectively train kids may be substantial depending on the time approved by host school’s board of directors or proprietor/proprietress.
Steem Lagos seeks to give incentives to the school as well as gifts to participating graders to encourage schools to accept our invitation.
- Learning Facility
Inadequate computers in the schools may affect the rate of learning.The team seeks to provide personal gears (laptops, internet and electricity generators) to schools during the training time.
Getting Started with Crypto-Kiddies Training Program
Facilitators: John Makinde (Jotmax) (Android App Dev), Samson (@sammie85) (Web Dev), Brindocorp and other invited programmers.

Blockchain Technology and its implementation
Steemit:
Set up your Steem account.
Earn while you share your creativity.
Save Steem for University.
Give dad/mum a Steem gift.
Programming: Html, xml, Java. Kotlin
WHAT OUR SUCCESS MEASUREMENT WOULD BE
Raising a financially independent generation: As one of the goals of Steemit is to decentralize and disrupt the internet, the project aims to extend the tentacles of Steemit in the academic curriculum of Nigerians, in Lagos and create a sort of financial freedom mindset in graders in the community.
Potential Challenges of the Project and Solutions.
Conclusion
With the implementation of this idea and support from the Steemit Community; far and near, we will collectively and individually reach out to the world and make Steemit a model of emulation.
