A PROPOSED SOLUTION TO A UNITED BLOCKCHAIN COMMUNITY- ONE NAIJA

MISSION

Creating a unified Community on the Blockchain without the interference of National Physical Disparity and segregation, which create a more relevant and focus community.

PROBLEM

95% people reading this might disagree to this suggestion, only a few would see the logical point of reasoning in it. Since i read a post earlier today which struck a nerve in me, in case you missed the post; here is the post by a sensitive steemian @gbenga- one of the smart curators for the community that i came to respect. Below is a link to the post, click on the link to read:

Uniting The Nigerian Community Is Our Goal To Enable Growth. My Honest Review On The Nigeirian Community

We have a psychological situation at hand, many might not realize this; the disparity and segregation in the Nation is reflecting on most of our thoughts and actions which is also transcending unto the Blockchain. As long as we are able to identify that, then a solution would suffice. I am as guilty more than anyone else, anybody claiming to be innocent of this Dis-unity should have a Rethinking done.

If we as a Nation agree that we are our own worst enemies, that is Victory!

One factual point is, here on this Platform; we have a little fraction of Whales and Dolphins. Reputation means little to nothing here because it appears that is what is crucial to some people and this is something that could be lost overnight(A rep 69 could turn 20 in a jiffy).

The misconceptions of having different groups formed is one of the killer factor to the Nigerian Community which is making the "Tag" a joke; we are not getting the necessary attention despite our content creation and Steem(it) crusade. Different groups are not bad, it just creates unhealthy factions.

SOLUTION

Discouraging multiple sub-groups under the Nigerian Community on the international front i.e On Discord, Steemchat) is what i am suggesting as a starting point of action, if this is optimized; then we have ourselves a huge chunk of the problem solved!

What are the features of a healthy group for a National community? A group where nothing is done to impact your progress, where sweet talking is the model so as to get supports instead of merit(Favoritism), this are no perquisite to Growth. If any other person from each group could admit this, like i am now; this is what is happening in most of the sub-groups being created. A coven for factions and unhealthy suggestions to counter what another sub-group is doing or not doing- Aren't we all sick of all this?

A lot of people were disappointed on comments wars made on a post recently, it escalated because some individuals have a Hard Targets- an enemy made out of assumptions. I am still sad over this ruckus because i felt like a target and reacted spontaneously which i wish i could turn back the hands of time and prevent!

A PROPOSED ACTION

I believe a unified server could work for the "Nigerian Community" and then all Sub-Groups could come under it with free access or restricted access per registration or per invite. For example, there are a couple of several channels created for @steem-lagos on Discord which i can categorically inform you they were made without consents.

I thereby propose a total wipe out of several Discord Server/Channel to create one central and unified Nigerian Community Discord Server, under it could now feature a thousand and one sub-groups and channels available to anyone interested to join or per request. Hence we have a central attention and a unified support from the community without strive nor dispute. Also makes it easy for the Curators to do their very overwhelming task which they have been doing fantastically(even though they go sleepless at times) which we couldn't thank them enough.

Feature Model of a Central Nigerian Community Server

SUCCESS MEASUREMENT

If unity is what we all clamor for, then this shouldn't be a problem to any Group leader to agree on. It is not a far-fetched solution, it is achievable if we do not want a dispersed community. If this is achieved, we have Nigerian users on the Trending pages in no time and plagiarism would be a thing of the past.

A hard choice and sacrifice to make but with a common goal and objective, we could only change the course of things ourselves ; Nobody would do that for us!

APPRECIATION

My profound gratitude to those who had been supporting the Nigerian Community, the Good steemians who never forsake us despite our formidable mistakes. And to the Curators who sometimes do not sleep only because you guys wishes to reward quality/creative contents, a hearty cheers to you all!

We call for unity when there is apparent disunity. It is a good call but how did we get here?

I know this is trying to say, lets move forward but looking back also will help us understand where we got it wrong and what we actually got wrong.

I still don't think there is a need for this 'identity'. It is true that a call for one Nigeria has never worked before (without generalizing) but to think this will work is to try it first.

It's a divided home already but as a thinker, i know 'some things' are possible.

One Love! 🙌

Is your statement in support or in-between? What could looking back on how we got here do to a proposed solution but slow it down?

It is a divided Nation in reality which is reflecting on the Blockchain, and this is a suggestion to a start point as regard taking actions.

There was never a divided Naija if I may speak, we all just have divided personalities. Personalities that led us to have too many rooms under one roof. Imagine a house with too many rooms (diversity) with different people in each room. The parlour (unity) will just be a mere waka-by. I belong to no nation and I belong to every nation. Let's build a house that can shelter everyone. Thanks

There was never a divided Naija

And

Imagine a house with too many rooms (diversity) with different people in each room. The parlour (unity) will just be a mere waka-by.

Still under one roof, whether nobody use the sitting room or not!

And its a suggestion, from the look of things you guys are just dropping antgonising comments and at the same time countering your own comments and you got support for it...very Dramatic!

Hahahahaha. Your words are confusing to my understandings. I have seen a couple of one-naija posts recently and these posts are calls for unity. If you think my comment is antagonising, I will like you to explain how antagonising it is to me.

The support thingy? Not my thing.

Still under one roof, whether nobody use the sitting room or not!

Tha's what I am saying either. Under the same roof (Nigeria) but too many rooms (diversity or group). We all know the truth except we want to hide from it.

This post makes sense, well done

Please unity is what we want. Let us set aside personal differences and work towards the bigger picture..... Yes all as one because then and only then can we achieve much, here on the blockchain and every where else.

You have said it all big bro @oluwoleolaide the breakdown of too many groups makes it hard for a regular Nigerian to blend in due to favouritism, i support you with everything in me man.

Thank you so much for this.

Exactly! Unity is all we want!

One love bro, i believe this could work.

Yes i stand with you, anyhow this could work and i can contribute im willing to sacrifice anything to make it work

I support this... The separate groups makes it look like there is a competition, The sky is too big for everyone to fly. I stand with a united Community!💟💟💟

Thanks for seeing my logical points Sweet One

hiii dear friend, @oluwolealaide, very nice to read wonderful ideas and suggestions in your article. that's great for community development and promotion. nice work apprecited and support your efforts. good luck.

Hello @oluwoleolaide

You have made a very sensible post by your call for all subgroups to collapse into one. And in as much as I agree with most of your arguments on this post, there are some I quite disagree with.

The claim that national segregation that's obtained in Nigeria is impacting on the way we relate with one another within Steemit community, is subjective. In fact, national segregation, as you put it, doesn't define the terms of our relationship here at all. What define our relationship here is interest. One goes with whoever is in alignment with his ideas. Nigerians of different ethnic nationalities have come together to floats projects. There's hardly any project that is mono ethnically composed, unless solo run projects.

Again, you may be right to some extent by saying many subgroups encourage rivalry and unhealthy competition but this is not true in all cases. Personally, I don't see myself as being in competition with anyone. And I trust so are many.

Having said that, I support the call for a united Nigerian community discord room, having channels for each and every subgroups. I also wanna use this opportunity to call for creation of a national organization of Nigerian Steemians. Creation of a national body for Nigerian Steemians is long overdue.

Thanks very much

Follow @eurogee & @euronation

It was stated as a Pyschological thing. Then there is a question of how many other community has similar issues like ours? Like you said, all subjective and this is just a suggestion not mandated for adoption...

This is indeed a way forward Sir..... I'll like to have many nigerian reacting to this post either by blogging about it or by commenting on existing post My own post is also few minutes away to be posted.

Thanks for the 10steem tip you sent to my wallet Sir.... Mucias Gracias!

Not the way forward, you could tell from the comments it doesn's sit well with some people...

Most Welcome
