Learning by Observing

Some people learn by doing. Others prefer to watch and listen. Which are more comfortable as Steemians? Like most things... there is a mix and balance.

For full disclosure, I am highly introverted. I enjoy being alone. I have no trouble being alone in the deep dark silent night thinking and writing. As a youth, I learned by observing. My imagination was fueled by reading books. My musical education was more about listening and less about performing.

My success as a Steemian is comparatively modest. I have never played well with others. I prefer to learn by watching others.

After watching for many months, I observe that success requires long term persistence. However grand success seems to come through teamwork. Teamwork is not my natural strength. I work more comfortably alone.

Hence, the need for a mix of talent. Be persistent, but be personally responsible. That means being response able. This may seem contradictory but it is possible to retain your individuality yet participate in a group. This was not obvious to me when I first joined steemit.

Although I have been around for many months, I still am ignorant of how to join or participate in a group. I guess this is learned by doing rather by observing. I have missed that boat.
