Geidi Primes (Grimes album)  Geidi Primes is the debut studio album by Grimes.  In 2011, the album was released in the United Kingdom by No Pain in Pop Records on CD and LP, containing a slightly different cover art. Geidi Primes is a concept album based on Frank Herbert's novel Dune.  The album's title refers to the fictional planet Giedi Prime, of the Dune universe in a series of novels by Frank Herbert, originating with the 1965 novel Dune, Grimes' favourite book.  'Caladan', the first track, is about a fictional planet of the same name. The next song, 'Sardaukar Levenbrech', is about the military rank of Levenbrech—roughly in between a sergeant and a lieutenant—in the fictional army (that is) of the Sardaukar. A Face Dancer, as used in song title 'Zoal, Face Dancer', is a type of human in the series who can shapeshift. The song, 'Feyd Rautha Dark Heart', is about the primary antagonist of the first novel in the Dune series, named Feyd-Rautha. The song 'Shadout Mapes', is about the minor character Shadout Mapes. The song 'Beast Infection', is about the 'Beast' nickname of the character Rabban.  I would describe this album as being eccentric, dreamy, cohesive, enchanting, resourceful, impressive, spooky, blissful, tribal, sweet, soft, dark, creative. To sum it all up, this album draws from everything including other music genres such as dubstep, disco, eastern music and even 1990s R&B.
