Can anyone explain more about the gridcoin ?
Just a newbie question, I wanted to know more about Gridcoin and what is so special about this coin ?
I wonder this as there is a separate forum for gridcoin and what do people see in this ?
Looking to invest based on user feedback :)
What we like about Gridcoin is that we can earn crypto-currency on normal computers, and do useful work!
Gridcoin is currently the only coin rewarding BOINC computations (mostly scientific projects, but can be virtually any kind of distributed computing). There are over 4.3 million registered BOINC users.

As @scaletrix stated we love to help science while mining instead of using power for useless calculations. Even if we don't earn much we have the good feeling of having contributed to science.
And if you choose the right project you have evene the opporunity to get mentioned in scientific articles if you donate a huge amount of computing power. tl;td: Gridcoin is a coin for the sake of humanity :)
