Gridcoin Team Roundup 2017
Happy New Year to everyone on Team Gridcoin!
Its been an other cool year, being part of the community, I have been around Gridcoin since late 2014, it was my first venture into crypto currency, and Im pleased to still be here. I have been BOINCing for over a decade, so long I cant even remember how it all began, but Im still in love with the idea, and its great to be getting GRC for it too.

In the last day of 2017 it looks like someone woke up and smelt the coffee, as Im looking at Bittrex now the support seems massive
Remember this is on top of some pretty major gains recently, and against the backdrop of BTC slipping in value.
My theory on why this is happening
Easy, real organic growth! I post about team stats from time to time, and what huge gains we are seeing in Gridcoin Team membership, we now have over 3300 active solo miners and over 6000 in the pools, its just obvious that this puts GRC supply in constraint

Team Gridcoin absolutely blitzed the competition at Formula BOINC
And of course we hit #1 spot in the Non-ASIC chart on BOINCstats. However even more amazing is we are now gaining significantly on the ASIC chart; ASICs are no longer used in BOINC, but our RAC is so huge we are actually occasionally creating over a billion credits per day, so even here, given time we will top out the leaderboards!

So what an amazing year for Gridcoin as a crypto-currency, and team Gridcoin as a BOINC team. We owe our thanks to many people for caring enough to offer their compute time to help cure diseases, do astronomy, particle physics and so much more good science.
We also need to recognise the Gridcoin Dev team (you know who you are) and other people who do side projects to make this a broad, interestng and appealing project I Salute You

How can I join Gridcoin pls?
What kind of information do you want? To start ''mining'', I recommend going to the grcpool website and watching the tutorial video. Starting in the pool is the easiest for most people since you will need a lot of coins to ''go solo''.
The video will tell you about downloading boinc, and linking your boinc to the pool and how to get started with the work. You will also need the gridcoin wallet (since it's best to get your money out of the pool and into your own wallet, for safety reasons) and for that you could ask for help here on steemit, you could check the subreddit, irc, twitter, etc, or use the website. Getting the wallet up and running takes a bit of time because it needs to sync, don't worry about that.
