Gridcoin is Number 1
Well you may argue that its not true, but in my eyes Gridcoin is the best-ist, except for when I consider all the other cryptos Im into, then its kind of like choosing your favourite child.... no, they arent mine
But I do have empirical evidence that Gridcoin is number 1, and that is in the form of another one of the BOINC stats sites Formula BOINC
If you saw my post from last week about BOINCstats you will have seen that many older teams are still higher than Gridcoin in the rankings, this is due to them being around much longer, which is a little unfair. I talked a little about RAC there and you can see that Gridcoin is higher than other teams, but its taking time for us to grind to the top.
Formula BOINC is quite different in that it runs an annual competition, and each team scores points based on their overall output for each BOINC project in that time period. So just like Formula 1 racing, if you have the highest credit score you get 25 points, second place is 18 points, third 15 points and so on.
The Formula BOINC calendar is just over half way through, and as you can see Team Gridcoin has a commanding lead:
What I really like about Formula BOINC is that they use an equal weighting for each BOINC project, this gives an inherent fairness to the way they make their statistics and scores. Incidentally this is very similar to how the Gridcoin Magnitude system works, each project receiving an equal share of the daily new GRC issued, then researchers being fairly rewarded based on their % contribution of the work.
If you arent familiar with Gridcoin, the work we do over here in Gridcoin-land, is real scientific research, like trying to find drugs to cure diseases like childhood cancers, AIDS, Ebola, or building 3d model of the Milky Way galaxy, finding the biggest Prime Numbers and so much more.
So think about all that for a moment, we have thousands of people giving up their time, equipment and electricity bill to do scientific research to help human-kind; what a wonderful world it can be sometimes. Not only that but we have spirited competitions and community in the form of stats sites like BOINCStats and Formula BOINC. Until Steemit came along, there have only been a few online communities I wanted to be in, and Gridcoin has always been one of them.

There's no doubt in my mind that Gridcoin is the most meaningful cryptocurrency out there (sorry STEEM, you're second) and that there's great things ahead.
