Due to a downvote from @adm I have decided to cancel this experiment. I have not been informed about why this down vote has been done or if I have broken any unwritten rules on Steemit.I thought this to be a good way to help small users on steemit get a chance to gain a big amount of Steemit value and at the same time promote and support our own Gridcoin Community.
This way of advertisement will not be made again from Gridcoin Weekly and we apologize if it was against any kind of rule.

Additional Note: As it turns out a new user can have a voting weight of 0 even before the first distribution. It could be related to the penalty of voting before the 30 minute limit. Any account voting before the first distribution and has a voting weight of 0 will still be eligible for this lottery.

Sadly a steemit whale called @adm just downvoted this lottery post with a massive weight. I do not know why as there has been no explenation, but I assume this user speaks for the community?
This was a try to help the smaller users on steemit while at the same time support our Community and users.
Don't assume that any single whale speaks for the community. Hopefully you can establish communications with @adm and find out what the reason was.
It was a good effort to promote Gridcoin; sorry it didn't pan out.
He's a whale but only has 30 posts, pretty crazy - just ignore him and carry on. That said, the initial distribution of steem was so poor that we'll never really build up a large prize pot.
I know, bugs me a little. Hes going around telling people they are doing wrong things and downvoting them. I was hoping for a bigger user to upvote the post to gain some bigger prices, but it didn't work out and when the downvote came in it took it all away.
