Gridcoin coinhive miner

in #gridcoin6 years ago

Like many other coins, now gridcoin has online miner! You mines monero for me, I give gridcoins for you.

Payout minimum is 0.01 GRC ($0,0002 USD, pretty reachable). Also you need gridcoin address.

Welcome to use! https://grc.arikado.ru/coinhive.php

Enter you address, press "open miner page". Then start mininig.

Currently no fees, but if there is too much users I could add some.

If you have any questions - just ask me.

Gridcoin is an open source cryptocurrency (Ticker: GRC) which securely rewards volunteer computing performed upon the BOINC platform in a decentralized manner on top of proof of stake.

BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) is a distributed Internet platform launched beginning of 2002 and rewards participants with credits for performed work. BOINC is an application available for multiple Operating Systems and utilises the unused CPU and GPU cycles on computers to perform scientific work.

You could crunch Gridcoin directly and use the CPU/GPU cycles of your system to support science.

Instead you are proposing to mine Monero, wasting the CPU/GPU cycles of a system by performing calculations without scientific purpose, and receive Gridcoin for doing this.

Does this make sense?

Some people too lazy to setup BOINC client and just uses faucets. But I don't like these things.

Also there is iPhones, pretty powerful phones, without BOINC software for them.

When I sell monero and buy gridcoins I increase price and volume for gridcoin.

This all looks good for gridcoin in whole.

@Parejan you took the words out of my mouth 100%. XMR does not have a good rep , I tried earning some when goofyxgrid tried doing an amd gpu miner app and holly hell their blockchain is huge.. sau412 dont you already run a gridcoin pool? How about taking up the licensing issue with apple that wont allow Berkeley release a boinc application for iphones? Maybe you can help with an ios gridcoin wallet too?

I found information about BOINC application problem for iOS, quote: "The developers from what I have seen have indicated that this is mostly due to the restrictions the Apple Store and the platform have against applications performing code updates and pulling code modules from outside servers once installed; you would basically need a complete BOINC + application module for every project and would need to recertify and repush it every time it updated."

I cannot easily do that application for iPhone (never tried to do iOS app). But i'll check if there is possible to do javascript workunit for seti@home (because I found their sources).

About iOS gridcoin wallet. Do you mean coinomi wallet or separate app? Never heard about separate app.

You were the one complaining about no Boinc on iOS and I already knew the reason but I thought I should make sure you did too and I was trying to help you resolve there not being a Gridcoin wallet , develop it. There is the " beta " or attempt at gridcoin.io to make a no offense " trust at your own will " a " paper " web wallet. I am sorry but my fictitiousness and sarcasm did not come threw in the text for once. I am highly against what you are proposing. Either you are promoting and backing Gridcoin by running your pool or promoting and getting behind another. Does not seem like a good business model. If you research the XMR hiveminer results and how crappy of a reputation , think if you/we as a community want Gridcoin to be related? I think people see the price and since its a larger figure get greedy thinking they should add it.. goofyxgrid@home tried it with XMR and failed.

Not sure that I undertand all text correctly, but I try to reply.

  1. I don't want to develop gridcoin wallet for iOS. I'm not iOS developer.

  2. If people aren't greedy, why they care about project and subproject selection? There are many posts about maximizing output, how else would it be classified?

  3. A person is not required to support only one project. I like other projects too, and want to try them too.

  4. Thanks for mentioning about goofyxgrid and monero relations, I'll check what is happened.

Completely agree, to me this is completely against what Gridcoin is about, the only explanation I can understand is not having a BOINC capable device, but even for that I would imagine there is a better solution

If only javascript workunits could exists... Gridcoin need project with javascript workunits, it could solve problem with capable devices.

Then we can do coinhive alternative. Want some crypto? Solve workunit:)

Would be cool if you add a GRC/s calculation based on the hash rate =)
Like the idea though!

Good job thank you very much. Withdraw works like a charm =)

I can add this, but there is mGRC/s or even μGRC/s

I think you should make it so that it's impossible to launch the miner in the event that you're on a platform that supports boinc.

Not so easy to check is you platform can launch BOINC. There could be invisible restrictions.

Also, if your target is increase BOINCing users, then I don't think that direct prohibition could help in that situation. Better solution could be show user that he could earn more if he begin using BOINC manager, like that:
Earned 0.1 GRC
Could be earned if you use BOINC manage: 0.15 GRC setup link and instructions
It should be fair. But we cannot calculate gridcoin rewards precisely.

Or give user reward for installing BOINC manager, joining pool, reach a milestones in BOINCing. But now I don't know how to do that.
