After contacting Eric Korpela with [email protected], they now accept Gridcoin as a donation method.

I confirmed the address on the blockchain with a transaction.

I am awaiting confirmation from them that they can see it in their wallet and that the wallet is operational.

I will update this post when I hear back.

Please wait to donate until I have confirmed that they have access to the wallet.

Edit: Wallet is confirmed

Well worth it too. I just met Eric at the SETI holiday party, and he's a great guy. All of them are an amazing bunch who are very passionate about what they do. They are working on some incredibly exciting new projects (new telescope arrays, using Google's AI to interpret signal patterns, etc.) And they always need money, because it's all private funding for them.

Indeed, GRC address is posted on their donation page. Well done!

I just noticed 2 other whitelisted projects accepting GRC donations as well:

Maybe we could open the communication with other projects as well to see if they are interested to setup a donation page allowing GRC payments. This would create a positive interaction between Gridcoin and the projects.

I agree.

Also, I have donated to yoyo, yafu, and Primegrid with GRC before. They are in my address book.

Their wallet is still downloading the blockchain. Eric says it will be done by tomorrow morning. Thanks for posting the link!

That is a great story. Now you can support [email protected] by donating your earned Gridcoins on the project!

I know right. It will create a positive feedback loop that will increase the amount of research done and maybe we will be able to find signs of life elsewhere.

Very cool news! This is pretty big news :D
