WU availability for Gridcoin whitelisted projects (24/Jan/18)
This week I have added the new whitelisted project ODLK1. As you will notice, there is a steady flow of awarded credits for this project in-line with the 40-days average.
The situation is still different for Sourcefinder@home with another week of very limited work-units. There was just a new update on the forum [here] explaining the issue with last week’s upload of WUs and hopefully it will be fixed this time. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
Finally, the information exchange between Asteroids@home and BOINCStats has been re-established since 19 January and the daily credit allocation is available again. As such I have left the overall status for the project on Green.
And here is the status and last week's daily allocated credits for all whitelisted projects.
Thanks for reading. Follow me for more BOINC & Gridcoin related articles. Gridcoin is an open source cryptocurrency (Ticker: GRC) which securely rewards volunteer computing performed upon the BOINC platform in a decentralized manner on top of proof of stake. BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) is a distributed Internet platform and was launched beginning of 2002 and it rewards participants with credits for performed work. BOINC is an application available for multiple Operating Systems and uses the unused CPU and GPU cycles on computers to perform scientific work.
I really hope the sudden influx of team gridcoin doesn't sink ODLK1 the way it did sourcefinder.
The situation is not really the same. Sourcefinder@home is still in a development stage and haven’t reached a steady production of WUs yet. On the other hand, ODLK1 has been producing a steady flow of WUs for a long time where the only thing we still need to see is whether the IT backbone and server can handle the traffic.
