3 Days left to cast your vote for new Gridcoin logo

in #gridcoin7 years ago

The Gridcoin community is voting about the logo renewal of the old Gridcoin logo.
For a long time it looked like an easy thing. But now approval rate is at (52 % against 48 %).
You can check this here.

No matter if you approve the redesign or not make sure cast your vote and make yourself a voice! The whole community should decide! More info about the branding update can be found here.

Sort:

It's going to be close call for this voting. I don't think we've ever had this many voters and we are so balancing on the middle.

It is not anonymous whales - the top Reject vote came from Rob's wallet...

Anonymous whales are trying to stop this change.

Rise up crunchers, YOU are the heart and soul of the Gridcoin Project. YOU are the one's who help science, YOU are the ones who do the work.

No matter how small your contribution, YOUR vote counts, Make it count, VOTE

While I love the enthusiasm around giving power to those who do the work, let's not forget that there are a lot of whales who are active participants in both the Gridcoin and BOINC communities and in development as well = ).

There are some anonymous investors who seek nothing but profit, true, but there are also whales who work hard for the project. Their voice is just as important.

To find out if someone listed as ** Investor ** is anonymous or registered with BOINC, click the ** Investor ** link. The investor is anonymous and not BOINCing if the page it takes you to says:

If it shows a CPID next to "Owner:", you can click that CPID and see who it is registered to along with some of their BOINC stats.

And to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what this means:

Perhaps @sc-steemit could shed some light on the situation.

Keep in mind that some people run multiple clients and may have one for BOINCing and the others for holding coins in storage and others still which they load only for votes.

To make it a bit more clear. The page differentiate Researchers and Investors votes based on how their wallets are set up. But can historically be traced anyway.

Investor Vote: The page will show investor when the voter isn't a cruncher. Their wallet is running in investor mode. The page keeps track of historical CPIDs and can easily bee viewed as you say, by checking what CPID that has the address.

Miner Vote: When the voter has their wallet in mining mode. The page shows their username.

Linked/Unlinked Investor Wallet is a trial to track investors. It wasn't fully successful in the code I have now, but will be much more accurate in the next version. It links together addresses when spent together on the same transaction.

I'm very much looking forward to the new GCS!

Honestly one of my biggest issues with the current voting system is that I can't rescind my previous vote and re-vote now that I've got a much higher magnitude/balance.

You can not unvote. But if you vote again your previous vote will disappear and the new vote will be with your higher vote weight.
