Now that we have an Android wallet for GRC maybe we could start advertising to Android users. With the Coinomi wallet and the pool, the setup for new people should be very easy.
There are more than 1.4 billion Android users in the world, according to this TechCrunch article from last year: https://techcrunch.com/2015/09/29/android-now-has-1-4bn-30-day-active-devices-globally/
That is a LOT of potential Gridcoiners out there!!
How could we advertise directly to android cryptocurrency users?
I guess full guides for android would be a cool idea, however without dedicated android projects these users may stand to only make a few GRC per month.
We could target various Android websites via Google AdWords, but it's expensive and we would probably recruit more users by simply advertising on boincstats.
Forums ads might be a good way to get the word out. We may approach forum admins as see if we could get some kind of ad package.
Boincstats has 100k visitors per week and charges us 300€ for a month of advertising. Popular Android websites have 10+ million visitors per week and I am afraid the cost of fixed advertising will be proportional to that.
I see your point Vortac, it definitely won't be cheap. Maybe we could start with the smaller ones?
