What this means:

Gridcoin rewards crunchers for contributing processing power to BOINC projects on the Gridcoin whitelist. The addition of the project “Sourcefinder” brings the number of whitelisted projects up from 25 to 26. Gridcoin magnitude is evenly divided among the number of whitelisted projects. As a result, you can expect to see your magnitude drop by around 1/26 ( ≈ 4%).

About Sourcefinder:

Locating radio signals in 3D cosmic space!

Sourcefinder is a project that utilizes a large amount of simulated data to test the effectiveness of the sourcefinder application as a method of finding the origin of cosmic radio signals. BOINC provides an effective method to crunch through the large volume of data required to test the application effectively.

Running Sourcefinder

Sourcefinder has been whitelisted today, Thursday 7th December, and rewards will start being paid out after the next SuperBlock. You can start building RAC immediately; keep in mind though that Sourcefinder is a CPU only project that requires VirtualBox 5.1.3 to run.
