Their hardware requirements are, as mentioned there:
- "We need about 30 GB of RAM on the DB/web server, with about 300 GB of SSD RAID 1 disk and a 1+ GB network connection. We also need a second server with 8-16 GB of ram and about 100 GB of SSD RAID 1."
I am thinking that something like this (link below) might be a bit much for their needs? What if the Gridcoin foundation bought this and funded a colocation for it? This would provide enough computational resources for their project and many other BOINC projects in need of a temporary/permanent home. While it is not in use as described above, it would be able to provide computational resources towards currently whitelisted projects. This could cover some of the cost of the colocation and initial investment. It is also congruent with Gridcoin's mission critical objective, vision, and values.
