- make sure your team founder(s) add your team to the challenge on boincstats also. The more, the merrier.

Noob also! Just got a gaming computer with an RX 580 graphics card. I downloaded BOINC but not sure what to do next. Any advice on what would be a good starter project to crunch or what challenge to try, for my graphics card? Thanks!

Here are projects with CPU/GPU listed!
Best would be if you find a user with same/similar graphics card, then you could imitate his approach at begin (that's just to keep you going, not an optimal strategy). The 25 whitelisted BOINC projects are also here, you can see there top users and on the BOINC websites itself you can see also some hardware details of them.
This is the BOINC side, in short, very short...
Then to get rewarded you need to tell the Gridcoin superblock that you wanna get reward, you can do that by sending a beacon....
Best is if you read the FAQ, gridcoin.us or much better: come to IRC
Don't sweat it, if this old geek can do it, literally anyone can do it, and the #Gridcoin community is really an amazing bunch that will help!
If you are impatient, like me, I highly recommend looking up how to do a faster initial sync with your snapshot (included in the files now I think), makes life a lot easier. Good crunching!
