How can I vote?
Windows users:
Launch the voting menu
- Launch Gridcoin client & fully sync the blockchain.
- If your wallet is encrypted, fully unlock the wallet (not just for 'staking only').
- Click "Advanced" , then click "Voting" to launch the voting menu.
Investors (Balance based poll):
- Right click on the poll with the title "What should be the new splash screen?"
Crunchers (magnitude based poll)
- Right click on the poll with the title "What should be the new splash screen?"
Within the above mentioned polls, select an option (or multiple)!
- Click the "Vote" button in the context menu that appears. A voting window should appear.
- Check one (or more) of the check boxes.
- Click the "Place Vote" button. If you get a warning/error, fully unlock your wallet and repeat the above steps.
Linux users:
QT Wallet:
Navigate to the debug console
- Launch the Gridcoin wallet (QT) & fully sync the blockchain.
- Fully unlock your wallet.
- Navigate to the Debug Console (Help - Debug Window - Console (tab) )

CM: I appreciate your effort on this so please only take this as constructive criticism. There are too many choices, and some of the choices have similar designs, this makes it very difficult to really gauge interest accurately. Also, there are two obvious choices missing: None of the Above but keep working on a replacement; Keep the current splash screen; I would use the results of this vote as a way to narrow down the favorite 2 or 3 and then produce another vote with the winners plus the option to keep what we have or none of the above but keep working on a replacement.

There's many choices because there were many entries - I wasn't going to pre-select some over others, that would be me applying my own bias to the competition.
The 'None' wasn't really brought into the question because the forum thread had 15:2 (change:leave it alone).
Keep working on a replacement? Yeah, I guess.. but it's supposed to be a chill community based competition.
Yeah we can use the result of this poll to create a new poll to decide on a winner, I doubt anyone wants to keep the current splash screen though.

I guess it would be unethical to vote for my own design? I am enjoying some high magnitude right now through Milkyway@home, but it feels kinda wrong to push my artistic visions through magnitude.

Can you do multiple choice for Linux, or will entering a second option overwrite the first?
If you submit another vote you will effectively null your first vote. Only the most recent command is counted toward the results.
This is a command for voting for #29 and #2 on the command line:
execute vote Splash_Screen 29.GalacticReoTrayan;2.GalacticReoTrayan;
Note that the command is deliminated with spaces but your answer is after the 3rd space and this is deliminated with a ";" and there are no spaces in the answer choices. Your answer is stored in the blockchain as a string. Answers have to replace spaces with "_" because of the limitations in the command line and a delimiter is needed (which can't be a space) so the wallet can discern when an answer ends and a new one begins, the current code uses the ";" as a delimiter for multiple choice votes.

I'm not enamoured with any of these, tbh, and there is no way to express that in this vote. I would use the gridcoin medallion, by itself, on a transparent background. This would allow the 'loading' words to appear below the medallion. Keep it simple and relatively small is my preference.
