Current Gridcoin Whitelist - July 2017

What projects are you running? Do you competitively crunch or do you crunch primarily for a specific area of scientific research you prefer?

Project Goal Team Stats
Citizen Science Grid Umbrella project for DNA@Home, SubsSet Sum@Home, and Wildlife@Home. Team Stats
Cosmology@Home Darkmatter/Universe Model Research Team Stats
LHC@Home Accelerator Physics Team Stats
NFS@Home Lattice sieving step in Number Field Sieve factorization of large integers. Many public key algorithms, including the RSA algorithm, rely on the fact that the publicly available modulus cannot be factored. If it is factored, the private key can be easily calculated. Team Stats
NumberFields@home Research in number theory. Number theorists can mine the data for interesting patterns to help them formulate conjectures about number fields. Team Stats
Rosetta@Home Protein structure prediction that may ultimately lead to finding cures for some major human diseases. Team Stats
SRBase Attempting to solve Sierpinski / Riesel Bases up to 1030. Team Stats
SZTAKI Desktop Grid Mathematics, linguistics, physics, biology related goals. Team Stats
theSkyNet POGS Astronomy Research. Combine the spectral coverage of GALEX, Pan-STARRS1, and WISE to generate a multi-wavelength UV-optical-NIR galaxy atlas for the nearby Universe. Calculate physical parameters such as: star formation rate, stellar mass of the galaxy, dust attenuation, and total dust mass of a galaxy; on a pixel-by-pixel basis using spectral energy distribution fitting techniques Team Stats
VGTU Distributed computing platform for scientists of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU). Team Stats
Universe@home Physics and Astronomy Team Stats
World Community Grid Solve aids, cancer, disease, etc. Team Stats
YAFU Factorize numbers of 70-130 digit length which are needed to bring Aliquot Sequences to a size of 130. Team Stats
yoyo@home Brings existing distributed computing projects to the Boinc world using the Boinc Wrapper technology Team Stats
Amicable Numbers Amicable Numbers is an independent research project that uses Internet-connected computers to find new amicable pairs. Team Stats
Asteroids@home Asteroid research - it uses photometric measurements of asteroids observed by professional big all-sky surveys as well as 'backyard' astronomers. The data is processed using the lightcurve inversion method and a 3D shape model of an asteroid together with the rotation period and the direction of the spin axis are derived. Team Stats
Collatz Conjecture Attempting to disprove the Collatz Conjecture. Team Stats
Einstein@home Search for spinning neutron (pulsars) stars using data from the LIGO gravitational-wave detectors, the Arecibo radio telescope, and the Fermi gamma-ray satellite Team Stats
GPUgrid Full-atom molecular simulations of proteins Team Stats
Milkyway@home Creation of a 3d map of the milkyway galaxy using data gathered by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. This project enables research in both astroinformatics and computer science. Team Stats
Moo! Wrapper Moo! Wrapper brings together BOINC volunteer computing network resources and the Distributed.net projects. It allows a BOINC Client to participate in the RC5-72 challenge. Team Stats
PrimeGrid Search for prime numbers. Primes play a central role in the cryptographic systems which are used for computer security. Through the study of prime numbers it can be shown whether current security schemes are sufficiently secure. Team Stats
SETI@home Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) Team Stats
TN-Grid The gene@home project is an implementation of the PC-IM algorithm, whose purpose is to expand Gene Regulatory Networks (GRN). Each network is a graph that specifies the causal relationships inside this set of genes, and helps in studying the gene expression phenomenon: the process through which the DNA is transcribed into RNA and the RNA translated into proteins. SETI@Home - gotta find those aliens. Been searching for 16 years, one of these days I'll find 'em...or, they'll find me...

I also run WCG - got to do something good with my computing power. At times, I'll let PrimeGrid loose on my computer. And I run WUProp (although it's not whitelisted anymore).

But, my all-time favorite BOINC project back in the day was Pirates@Home. Now, that was a community that knew how to have fun!

Not a GridCoin member but i'm running boinc since 2009.
My top project is Einstein - I love hard physics. Also PrimeGrid - found 350k digits prime in 2013 and now moving on to megaprime (1M+ digits)

Nice! Prime numbers are really cool to find!

I'm using Primecoin network to find Cunningham chains and bi-twin chains. It also rewards me 3 - 5 $ daily.

Wouldn't it be awesome if we changed the rewards such that competitive miners worked on projects that the majority of Gridcoin users think are most useful to society (based on votes), instead of the ones with the least RAC? Let's make this change happen!

All science is valuable though, and the current system helps less popular projects gather resources

Could be made possible through a proof-of-burn system where by destorying coins agaisnt a project's burn address directs more rewards towards that project than the others, however you'd need to convince the network and you'd need to program this functionality.

Universe@Home! Space science is really cool, also it's a good choice for ARM chips.

According to gridcoin stats a good bit of these have been excluded from rewards, such as numbers and einstein [which i was working on pretty good]
Unless your posting about projects you can work on besides rewards

They are not excluded - it's a temporary glitch that will be fixed soon. Those projects are still whitelisted.

Ok that's good, cause i like to work on alot of projects that include rewards and i really like the work einstein does
