Greenhouse 2017 video number 2
This is my second video from in my greenhouse. In this video, I show my self watering planters that I made from 5 gallon buckets. I watched a few different "how to" videos several years ago, and then made a few for myself. This video is about 6 and a half minutes long.
As you can probably tell, I don't use a script on my videos, I just do them as I'm running the camera. :-)
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them here or on my video channel.
I hope you like it!
Great video, I had the same problem with the bulkheads leaking until I found one called UNISEAL, they are one piece rubber grommet style and work amazing. I have several unions using these in my aquaponics and over several years none have ever leaked. They are also way cheaper than standard pvc bulkheads.
On the outside pipe bucket, I just used a threaded PVC fitting and an O ring. It wasn't a good enough seal. I'll have to try putting an actual bulkhead type fitting in the bucket. I have several of them that I got from the hydroponics store to use on my aquaponics system. I hadn't thought about using them for the buckets.
Clever system! I might have to give that a go sometime. I've got buckets, but they're occupied at the moment. Following to see how thing progress and because I can't resist a Yooper accent.
Hubby & I honeymooned (married in '89) and vacation in Big Bay. Have traveled all over the UP as often as we can. Has been a few years too many since we've been able to go. My pasty cravings are getting serious. ;~D
Ya dere ey! I tend to exaggerate the accent a bit for the opening greeting on the videos, but I've lived up here my entire adult life, so the accent has become part of me. :-)
There's nothing like a well made Yooper pasty!
Exaggerate away! It always makes me smile. Hubby & I have been up there enough to pick up the accent when we're there. Our problem is we talk too fast and that's a dead-giveaway we're not natives. Lol!
Best pasty I ever had was at the (now closed, dammit) Red Onion in Negaunee. We generally wind up at Jean Kay's in Marquette these days.
Now I'm hungry. ;~D
We have a couple of pretty good pasty places here in Iron Mountain, but probably not better than Jean Kay's.
I've had Dobber's, they're pretty good. We loved the sign out front - Yooper Soul Food. That's the truth and nuthin' but.
Funny trivia - the minister that married hubby & I was from Iron Mountain. Pretty town, btw. We've been through there several times!
