GREEN CHEMISTRY refers to the alternative method of producing a particular substance in a way that eliminate (or minimize to the lowest level) environmental pollution. It is also known as sustainable chemistry and the chemicals that are used to achieve this aim are known as green chemicals.
Green chemistry encourages elimination of hazardous waste products rather than treating them before they are being released into the atmosphere. However, we cannot achieve a 100% cure from any chemical product, side effect is inevitable. Hence, green chemistry is the way out.

A country that adopts green chemistry will have a lower mortality rate and the citizens of such country will have a longer lifespan.
A lot of diseases can be prevented via green chemistry because little or no harmful substances will be released into the environment.
Green chemistry can be applied into agriculture by replacing synthetic chemicals with green manure and use of animal dungs. The use of synthetic fertilizer results into water pollution when rain falls on the farm lands and erosion occurred, this leads to the pollution of nearby water bodies. A polluted water can lead to water borne diseases (diarrhea, cholera, typhoid, etc).
Green chemistry can be applied into many fields; engineering, agriculture, industry and production, medicine, among others.
