Did you know that indoor air is typically two to five times more polluted than outdoor air? According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), some of the biggest culprits include conventional household cleaners such as laundry detergents. (The synthetic fragrances and harsh cleaning agents can infiltrate the air through unsealed dryer vents.) To combat dirty air, make your own stain-fighting, brightening and deodorizing detergent using natural soap, washing soda and essential oils. Clean clothes plus clean air is a win-win!

Lavender Lemon Laundry Detergent
TIP: If washing on cold setting, dissolve laundry soap in a bit of hot water first and then add to detergent compartment.
NOTE: If your machine is still under warranty, check before using to see if it specifies what types of detergents you need to use.
