蝴蝶蘭屬，因花形似蝶得名，以開黄花的較爲名貴
在切花之中，蝴蝶蘭即為有名，時常做為高級宴會的擺設，或者新娘和濱相的捧花/襟花。
蝴蝶蘭出生於熱帶雨林地區，本性喜暖畏寒，喜歡潮濕和半陰的環境，濕度最好保持在50％～70％，通氣要良好，不然會影響其生長。
澆水的時候，不能澆水過多，讓其莖幹上有過多的水珠，最好是面乾內飽和 (表面看不到水珠，莖幹已吸飽了水)。
