Σήμερα και οι παπάδες
λειτουργάν σαν δεσποτάδες.
Σήμερα και τα κορίτσια
στέκονται σαν κυπαρίσσια.
Σήμερα τα παλικάρια
στέκονται σαν τα βλαστάρια.
Σήμερα κι οι παντρεμένες
είναι λαμπροφορεμένες…»
