Empty City - By Night - In Athens

Yesterday night in Athens empty downtown. A clearly failed photo!!! So, why I post this failed creation right now? Because it's Saturday, a potential laundry day, which pisses me off. Because our failures are our best teachers, also because this photo is included in the #mnemonicphotos series as it reminds me of yesterday night walk, because although bad, this photo reflects some deep urban feeling of me being the last entity alive around... Athens in mid-August is a different city, a nice city or at least a better city...

Have you ever visited Greece? Have you ever walked in Athens downtown at 3 o clock in the morning? Have you ever tasted local food specialties at 1 o clock in the morning? Have you ever... well, long story short, if you have never visited Athens just do it now! Summertime is a synonym of Greece somehow... At least for me!

Actually, most of my friends are on vacation, dispersed in islands, they prepare themselves for September's rough reality, they strength their mind such as their body by living normally for a little while. Because once back to the city, once back to the urban everyday life they'll lose the normality regulated by Mama Nature. They will be back to the abnormal way of life which is approved by humans as the best way to organize societies and impose economic models. Nowadays urban life is mostly toxic but this doesn't seem to bother the vast majority of participants in these societies, communities, states (corporated systems that divide humans arbitrarily in "categories" like "races" "nations" "poor nations" "rich nations" "developed countries" "sub developed countries" "religious people" "not religious people" etc. etc.). This is the fatal symptom of human antiphase. And the image shows how absurd could be that struggle for adopting a so-called "modern" system of governance where the citizen is obviously a slave depending on a poor salary, a slave who disposes of a few days of conditioned freedom per year. This is what humans commonly call "vacations"... and this is the main antiphase: Humans are praising this stupid global system, humans are ready to commit crimes in the name of the global economic slave system. Humans are slaves pretending to be happy slaves at any time they think of some raise (salary raise not spiritual of course)... Look at this image above, see how empty is the city. No cars parked, no people at all, just city lights, just lights of some car, which could be the last driven by some humans in a hurry for escaping the city...

And, yes, it is disappointing sometimes to see my friends facing financial difficulties, struggling all year for accumulating some extra money following the path of crucifixion just for assuring a few days of "vacations". Of course, during these days, my friends will spend all that they struggled to deposit in their bank accounts just for the "vacations" purpose. Hence, depression is expected to visit them once they're back to the "normal" urban everyday life.

The worst is that at any time I try to tell them that Normal life is rather what they call vacations while what they are accepting as "normal" life is, in reality, something between collective masochism and perpetual mental confusion, they don't even hear me! Never mind... I prepare myself for my kind of vacations which is not far from what is composing my everyday life and it is translated as "work". Because my work is my vacation! Don't worry, I'll explain better this concept in some next article.

Dear Followers and Friends, I think I'm gonna go to the seaside, right now! My spot is around 50 km from Athens downtown and my vision for this afternoon is composed around a couple of beers, feta (Greek famous cheese), and fried potatoes... I wish you to have an excellent weekend and thank you very much for visiting the @imealien blog!!!
