What is Greed City?

Greed City is a discord based game where you can play for free, but you can actually earn STEEM for your efforts. For each $10,000 in game units you can trade them in for 1 STEEM!

Getting Started

Join the discord server here and get started.
If you notice the server has different rooms for each action in the game. Its best to perform those actions in the dedicated rooms to help keep everything where it belongs, although it the bots will allow you to perform actions anywhere in the server.

• Earning money
  Go over to the Income group and Work
  Type the command !work to perform a task for an income that ranges anywhere from $1 -5 from what I have seen. The !work command does have a cool down time of 1-2 minutes to prevent Spam/Abuse.

Once you have earned your first wages, head on over to the Store to take a look at what is available as you earn more income. !Store will get you what you want to see, and if you want the 2nd page type !store 2. The first two items you can afford to buy are a Chicken - which you can use for chicken fighting or a Job.

• $5 - Chicken

  • This chicken can be used to gamble on chicken fights, although, please note the minimum wager appears to be $100. If you lose, you lose your chicken and your $100, and if you win you keep your chicken and get a profit of $100

• $200 - Job1: This Job will give you 2$/day

  • I have yet to buy a job. In theory this job will automatically give you $2 a day, even if you don't log in or type in work. Although at $2 a day, I find it hard to see the value of this investment until much later in the game. It has an initial payoff period of 100 days, and each job after job 1 has an even longer payoff period. I will continue to bank my cash for now.

Banking

You need to bank your cash to keep it safe, so head over the bank area. If you carry cash you are at risk of having another player steal it from you.

!Balance

This command will give you your current Cash, Bank and Network standings. It is possible to go negative in your cash holdings by performing risky crimes. It will also give your current leader board rank to give you an idea of how your progressing!

!Dep & !Dep all

• !Dep all: My most used command after !work. This allows you to deposit all of your positive cash on hand into your bank account to protect it.
• !dep : This will allow you to deposit a set amount of your cash if you wish to keep some. I have yet to use this command, but would be handy to keep cash out to buy something at the store.

Withdrawls

There is also a section to withdraw your cash before you head on over to the store for a quick purchase. I have yet to use these commands but !withdraw will function in the same manner as !dep.

Cimes

If the honest life just isnt for you, you can try to boost your income with some crimes.

• !Rob
  Type this command followed by someones user name in an attempt to rob them. This action does carry risk, if you are caught you will be fined, taking away from your cash holdings, or creating a negative cash holding that will offset future !work until you are back to 0. You can continue to try robbing some as long as you are willing to risk the losses vs potential gain.
• !Crime
  This command will let you attempt to commit a random crime, but carries the same risk as robbing someone. You have a good chance at failing and getting a fine. The strange part is, the current cool down period for crimes is 3 weeks, almost making it irrelevant.

Gambling

There are also options to double you money by gambling. Your options are

• Black Jack
• Dice
• Roulette
  All three games have a minimum bet of $100 so it is best to stay away from them until you are well established

Earning Crypto

So how do you get to cashing out some STEEM? If you accumulate $10,000 in game units, you can convert that to 1 STEEM. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me, although it will take a while to earn that first $10,000, but when you cash out it could be worth $2-5 if we continue to see STEEM rise.

Overall: I have been playing a little over a day and a half, and its been interesting. My main income is for using !work, and it is a bit of a grind. to build up my balance.The good part is this game is its brand new, so everyone is pretty close right now. I have been working hard here and there and have earned close to $400, almost putting me in the the top 20. While there are few atop the leader board that will be very difficult to catch - I think will keep playing for a bit and valuate my progress.
