look Americans, that is the manner by which you demonstrate that you are not satisfied with your legislature. Not by sitting before the television eating doughnuts and whining that there is nothing you can do about your government
Americans hold peaceful protests and marches all the time. They're just carefully controlled to let people blow off some anger and energy, and they return home before anything gets changed. Truth be told the American people probably like what American hegemony affords them, they might complain about it a lot but the system is designed to operate freely for the interests of groups that are willing and able to do all of the terrible things that ordinary people aren't willing to do as individuals, and even though it mainly benefits a few way more than the majority, the US still has the petrodollar, trade dominance, and a technological and military and information network advantage over much of the world.
