Ask me anything about Greece!

in #greece7 years ago

As my first post, I decided to let people ask me anything about Greece.

For the last 2 years, I have been traveling around Europe and met people from different parts of earth, such as from Peru -people from there gave me a sensation of calmness- and even from Mongolia. As we got to know each other, it came to my notice that Greece was not only famous for the ancients times but, it is or at least it was, for the last 5 years for some crisis and voting issues.

Apart from the feeling that I was short of  representative of my own country I had to overstep my personal superstitions about Greece and answer as realistic as possible combined with the research I have done. Then some people start to ask me questions  about the sex life in Greece and if it's true the high rate of "satisfaction".

So ask me anything that comes to your mind, and I will do my best to answer it.

Hi I'm going to Athens next week and don't know much about the country but I'm super excited!!!! Any suggestions and must visit/to do will be highly appreciated :)

Nice : D
First, usually is very hot in this period so have a bottle of water around you is always good and If you are coming from a Northern country make sure that you have sun protection with you.

Your first walk should be at Acropolis hill. After you have spend some hours there go to the Museum of Acropolis, it doesn't take long. If you have student card make good use of it.

Secondly, places to walk around by night is Thissio, Plaka, Monastiraki and Psirri which are next to each other and have different bars. You may have beer for a fair price on a small rooftop of a hostel called Athens Style at Psirri, where they hang around Greeks and foreigners.

Last, you may take the tram and go to Flisvos Marina and walk along side the Aegean sea. Make it there before the sunset.

This is the top 3 for me if you visit Athens for a few nights. Ask where you should eat.

Looking for hearing your experience!

Also, be careful about buying water. Usualy a 500ml bottle of water costs €0.3-0.5, while a 1.5 litre bottle costs €0.7-1.2 (depending on where you buy the bottle from). Prefer large supermarket chains (such as Sklavenitis, AB, Lidl) for water, as there are many reports about small convenience stores are charging a lot more when they sense a tourist!
