🎄 CHRISTMAS TREES 🎄

Yesterday while driving I witnessed a trailer load of Christmas Trees traveling south down the interstate. I thought this would make an interesting post and snapped a few quick photos. Wisconsin Christmas Trees are very highly desired all across the USA, especially in Florida. ~ @paradise-found

Christmas Tree production Info source

Each year, 33 to 36 million Christmas trees are produced in America, and 50 to 60 million are produced in Europe. In 1998, there were about 15,000 growers in America (a third of them "choose and cut" farms). In that same year, it was estimated that Americans spent $1.5 billion on Christmas trees. By 2016 that had climbed to $2.04 billion for natural trees and a further $1.86 billion for artificial trees. In Europe, 75 million trees worth €2.4 billion ($3.2 billion) are harvested annually.

What is the average price of a pre-cut Christmas tree?Info source

Bigger trees, those 10 to 14 feet tall, can sell for as much as $350. In fact, prices have been climbing for a while, according to the National Christmas Tree Association, a trade group. The average US shopper spent $36.50 on a Christmas tree in 2008; they spent $74.70 in 2016.

How much does it cost for a "cut your own" Christmas tree? Info source

The 400-acre Jones farm has 200 acres of firs, spruce and white pine that cost a flat rate of $40 each if you cut your own, or anywhere from $19 to $120 for pre-cut, depending on the size. It also sells live trees replanting for $25 to $190, depending on the size and species.

When's the best time to buy a Christmas tree? Info source

You should consider mid-November as the time to plan and follow through on your Christmas tree purchase. Christmas tree farms typically open during the middle of November and start cutting trees for lot sales.

How long does a real Christmas tree last? Info source

A freshly cut tree, kept well supplied with water, will last about a month. If you're buying a precut tree, be sure to ask when it was harvested. All Christmas trees will begin to lose needles as they dry out. Fir, spruce, and cypress generally keep their needles longer than pines.

It is crazy, how many trees we cut down just for Christmas.
I think this is a little bit too early for cutting the trees. At least that is what I think.
Have a wonderful day @paradise-found
