Recently we attended the "International Student Holiday Dinner" at the Peace Campus Church near UW-Stevens Point. Our daughter Lesly actually is a International student and attends UWSP, in fact she lives very near this wonderful Church. The turkey dinner was sponsored and cooked by our home Church in Wis. Rapids, St. Lukes. So we had many connections to this amazing event.

The food was scrumptious and the fellowship was fun. The decorations were amazing as they had dozens of beautiful poinsettias, Christmas lights, garland, christmas tree and all the other things you would expect to make it a magical evening.

After dinner and conversation, the evening concluded with a worship service. One of the Bible readings reminded me of my wonderful GV family.

1 Thessalonians 3:12
"May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you."

Reflecting on this verse and the GV family I realized what makes GV discord special is "agape love." Agape love means to love another without requiring anything in return. It made my heart soar realizing this is the GV family love.

The worship service concluded with the lights turned low and everyone holding a lit candle as we sang together the well known Christmas favorite, "Silent Night." This was a wonderful beginning to our Christmas Season.
