Getting together is good, getting together for giving is a whole lot better and then I must say getting together for gift giving day with steemians is the best!

Truly, I had a lot of fun with the 12 beneficiary families together with the whole Cebu Steemians last night at Mandaue Social Welfare Office for the Gift Giving Day. It was indeed an event I didn't regret joining and I am grateful for the hearts of these individuals who came, volunteered and made this day extra fun for the families and specially to the kids who were at the venue.

The event started of course with an invocation, singing of the Nathional Anthem and a welcome speech from the brain behind these special event, @jassennessaj. He elaborated what Steemit is and how it made a huge difference in his life as well as the lives of all the steminians inside that four cornered room.

A game was necessary as ice-breaker but more importantly, it was another way of giving, as each steemian represented a family, whoever wins, the represented family get to receive the prize. The game was a twist of Hephep hooray but instead of saying hephep, they said steemit instead. Since @jassennessaj won the confusing game, his represented family received the prize with a huge smile on their faces.

Rice is the staple food of the Filipinos and thus its perfect as a gift for these families. Each family receives ten kilos of rice. Aside from that, two grocery packs were as well provided and another envelope with a monetary amount inside were all given to each of the 12 families.

The was night filled with dancing and singing as the children showcased their talents. Here are the kids dancing:

But it was not just the kids who have talents to offer but as well as the Steemians just like @jaderpogi who had showcased a beatbox intermission number!

Overall, the event ended with the families bringing home their gifts and grateful hearts! Here's a photo showing how happy they were as they go out of the venue.

While the Steemians earned positive vibes as well as new found friends! I am super grateful that I have met @fernwehninja again as well as I shook hands with most of those I have met first time like @themanualbot @jassennessaj @smaeunabs and a lot more!

I am pretty sure this will melt your hearts and will encourage everyone to join the same kind of activity that will certainly commence in the near future.

I would like to add that before each of us went home, we had a solemn and heart melting candle lighting with all the Steemian volunteers who were present at the event. All of us holding our candles and made a heart shaped with the steemit logo in it. This basically means that all of us gathered around with the heart of giving and a heart which loves Steemit!

Behind every successful event is a committee who had worked hard, sweat out and exerted serious efforts to cover everything for it to make the day. For the recent success of Steemit Cebu Gift Giving Day, a bountiful congratulations to everyone who made this a great day for both the recipients and the organizers as well.
