[Grateful Vibes #45] I'm Grateful for My Oldest Daughter
I'm grateful for all my children, including my bellwether.
My oldest daughter is our bellwether. She's the one who often is the example for her siblings. If she does well, the others do well. If she misbehaves, the others learn from her.
The idea of a bellwether in a flock is the leader. The shepherd places a bell around their neck to track the location of the flock, since all of the flock follows the bellwether.
My beautiful little lamb is the leader of the flock. Wherever she goes, her sisters follow.
It was her idea to 'race' to the bottom of the hill and her sister gladly joined her.
She likes to pretend she's fishing.
She got the idea to use a box as a boat and catch walleyes and salmons with their fishing poles. Her sister is right there with her.
They even thought to bring (butter) knives in the boat the cut up the fish so they could eat them.
She likes to color, while listening to bible.
Another favorite activity is 'Torah Portions' which in her mind, means sitting and coloring while daddy is reading the bible out loud.
She also likes when daddy takes pictures of what she made with her blocks.
She requested that I put her block creations on a 'steemit post' as she says.
She was especially happy with her block man.
It's a great responsibility as a father to continually pay attention to the attitudes and behavior of my oldest child, since what she does and how she behaves will affect all the siblings in the house. They look to her to see how things work around here.
It's easy to focus my attention on my youngest, who sometimes seems to need the most attention, but really my oldest is the most crucial.
I pray everyday for the wisdom to parent well and to train up my bellwether to be a good example for my children.
Bless the Most High!

Such a huge responsibility, this parenting thing. Creating just the right balance is not for the weak at heart.
The focus on the right one is crucial.
You look like you are doing great! Blessed be.
tip!

Such a sweet post and tell her the block man and other block wirknis very good and we are glad she asked you to share it
She says "There is one that I made that I really liked because it had some some... i'd say thank you."
Cool
😎👍😎
your girl is simply amazing. Hope she understands how much you value her.
big ups sir.
She says no, she does not understand how much I value her, but that's because she says she can't know that I'm thinking, especially since I'm a boy. @ironshield
hahaha
real funny kid you've got
What a wonderful article this is, @ironshield! It's full of wisdom and truth. And I love all the pictures of your girls.
In case any of your readers are interested, a wether is a castrated male sheep, a ewe is a female and a ram is a male that has not been castrated.
I've upvoted and resteemed this post, and am following you now. I found the link to this article at #unmentionables.
Cheers!
@mitneb
My daughter was hoping I would do a steemit post on her block creations. She was happy to see it today.
I considered giving the definition of a wether, but I figured comparing my daughter to a castrated male sheep might not be a fitting analogy. :-) Maybe a bellewe?
Thank you for your comment and the resteem! How cool!
@ironshield
Good call on the definition, @ironshield. It would have put a torque in the writing, and not helped any.
Cheers!
@mitneb
She is cute @ironshield
Thank you. @ironshield
Bellwether, huh, I never knew what the official name of that was! I do remember growing up my little brother always wanting to do what I was doing! Blessings to you and your family....Shalom!
