The First Rule of Amazon Merch is...

Everyone knows the first rule of fight club, you don't talk about fight club. But what about Amazon Merch? Do you know the first rule of Amazon Merch?

It's don't lose your Merch account. Lately I've been seeing a lot more designs infringing on trademarks, playing off television shows and characters, movies and movie characters, sports teams, and movie stars and musicians.

While this has always gone on, I think with the slowdown in Merch sales, with newer 2018 designs not selling, and with the increased level of competition I think a lot of people are getting frustrated and desperate for sales and starting to make short term decisions that could jeapardize their merch account.

Just wanted to make a reminder video to remind everyone, if you have to ask you probably shouldn't put it on Merch. If you want to do fan art or play off sports teams, while it's probably not a great idea, keep that stuff on Redbubble and other platforms. They don't police their sites as strict and oftentimes they only pull designs down when they receive a complaint from the trademark holder, they don't necessarily go out of their way to police their site like Amazon does. ALso if you lose one of those accounts IMHO it's not as important as a Merch Account, it's easier to get back on those platforms, etc.

With Merch however, you get one merch account, its not easy to get back on, it's the most effective POD platform out there right now, basically point is don't take any chances.
