I came across this comment in a post recently and took a screenshot. @ericathurblair couldn't have explained this any better. Some people ask why I don't enter competitions and heres exactly why.

so true, but i have a feeling they use a shitload of templates, i cant imagine they actually produce stuff for a contest
Well I find it more beneficial to not enter any random contests in long run. I like the way of your thinking
