Street Art #178 2019 Mural Festival Day 4, Montreal (Canada)
With a little delay (sorry :-) ), a beautiful Sunday for 2019 Mural Festival allowed the artists to progress well on their work.
Leon Kerr finished his 3D work
Today, we will focus on the tribute to Scan in graffiti alley (parallel to Boulevard Saint-Laurent behind Artgang). A light blue paint was put to erase the old graffiti.
WHERE
Boulevard Saint Laurent, Montreal, Canada.
WHO
There are many murals in tribute to Scan (Scaner, Alex Scaner), one of Montreal’s first great street artists with an huge influence on many writers and artist in Montreal but also everywhere in the world. He died on 9 September 2017 after a long battle against cancer. You can check Street Art #165 for another mural.
Many artists seems to participate to this mural, especially from the 203 crew. Each artist has his sport...
The 203 collective was founded by Arnold and Borrris in Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada) when graffiti didn't have a real presence in town. With its artistict abstract direction, 203 moved on to other creative fields (tattoo, legal murals...). Many street artists based on Montreal come from this crew : Lyfer, Eker, Naïmo, Sener, Nstor...
In same spot, they already did something there Street Art #114
Some spots are still empty. Work in progress...
WHEN
- June 06-16 2019.
