THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."
Psalm 91:1 (NKJV)

• Dwelling in Jesus Christ is dwelling in the secret place of the Most High. Jesus is the secret place.

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe [secure, set on high].”
Proverbs 18:10 (NKJV)

• The step to dwell in Jesus, to abide in Him, is to accept Him as your Saviour and Lord.
• If you believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and resurrected for your justification; and confess with your mouth that He is your Lord, the Lord of your life, you shall be saved (Romans 4:25; 10:9,10).
• Accepting Him as your Lord means He is your Owner, your Master, who has total control of your life.
  Paul, Peter, and Jude in their epistles introduced themselves as bondservants of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:1; Titus 1:1; 2 Peter 1:1; Jude 1:1).
• Accepting Him as your Saviour means you have accepted Him as your Redeemer: One who reconciles you with God, who saves you from eternal damnation, eternal Judgement, who paid the price for your sins (Romans 3:23-26; 4:25; 1 Corinthians 15:16-22; 2 Corinthians 5:17-19).
  “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ....”

• The full evidence that you have surrendered your life to Jesus is living your life in line with the principles of His Word (John 8:31).

1. “Now by this we know that we know Him IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS.
2. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
3. BUT WHOEVER KEEPS HIS WORD, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
4. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”
   1 John 2:3-6 (NKJV)

• And the proof that you know God, you are abiding in Him, in His secret place, is when you acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

• I have met people who believe they know God, but they do not know Jesus Christ. You cannot get to God without Jesus Christ.

“Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.”

“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.”
1 John 4:15 (NKJV)

• Mankind can only access God through Jesus Christ.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6 (NKJV)

• The only way to God is Jesus Christ.
• Definite article 'the' was used in the above Scripture to indicate that Jesus is the only way, truth, and life. No other way, truth, and life.

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12 (NKJV)

• There is no religion or its leader that can lead anyone to God (1 Timothy 2:5).

• One cannot access God through Islamic religion or its founder, Muhammad; neither can one through Buddhism or its founder, Siddhartha Gautama [Buddha], nor any other religion.
• There is no way in any religion, JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY.

• If Jesus' Word abides in you, you will pray to God and receive answers to your prayers.

• If you abide in Jesus and His Word abides in you, it grants you an audience with God.

“IF YOU ABIDE IN ME, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, YOU will ask what you desire, AND IT SHALL BE DONE FOR YOU.”
John 15:7 (NKJV)

• Therefore, if you abide in Jesus Christ, you are dwelling in the secret place of the Most High and you abide under the shadow of the Almighty—God.

• It means the LORD God is your refuge, a place of safety from danger or trouble; and He is your fortress, a place that has been strengthened against attack.

• The Blessings In Dwelling In Him:

• Deliverance from the snare of the wicked one—the devil 😈(Psalm 91:3).
• Deliverance from perils—serious dangers (Psalm 91:3).
• Protection— you will be protected. His Word, truth of His Word, will be your shield, your protector (Psalm 91:4).
  ~ What destroy other people, lays them waste; will not make you afraid, because you dwell in HIM (Psalm 91:5,6).
• You shall look and see the reward of the wicked—God will judge those who rise against you (Psalm 91:8; Romans 12:19).
• God will give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways and to preserve you (Psalm 91:11,12).

“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
Hebrews 1:14 (NKJV)

• You shall tread, trample, the lion, and the serpent—the devil and his cohorts (Psalm 91:13).

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you!”
Luke 10:19 (NKJV)

• The truth is:

• The fact that you set your love on Him, He will deliver you (Psalm 91:14).
  ~ He will exalt you because you know His name (Psalm 91:14).
• You will call on Him and He will answer you (Psalm 91:15).
  ~ He will be with you in the time of trouble (Psalm 91:15).
  ~ He will honour you (Psalm 91:15).
• He will satisfy you with long life (Psalm 91:16).
  ~ He will show you His salvation [deliverance, aid, victory, prosperity], health, help and welfare (Psalm 91:16).

• Are you dwelling in the secret place of God?

• Are you abiding under His shadow?

• In this piece, we have seen what it means to dwell in God's secret place, and what it means to abide under His shadow.

• Jesus Christ is all you need!
• There is nothing outside Christ.
• In Christ Jesus you have everything.
• All the blessing highlighted above are yours if you come to dwell and abide in Him.
• A composer says, “I have Jesus, there is no more lack; I have Jesus, I have everything.”
• The truth is every need is met in Christ Jesus. Jesus is the answer of the world today!
