Linux proposing friendlier GPL-enforcement

in #gpl7 years ago

The Linux Kernel Enforcement Statement was supported by the community this week and is motioned to move forward. This documentation adds a per copyright holder opt in additional permission to the termination provisions of Linux's GPLv2-only License.

I think this brings to light recently from a dev who made claims based on ambiguities in GPL-2.0, no one in the community has ever considered part of compliance. This was mention from some kernel dev's who initially created the document.
This is not new compliance has always been there to bring companies to compliance, but this has never been used for the monetary gain.
