E.P.A. : The Trump administration has formally suspended a major Obama-era clean water regulation

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt has begun the legal process of repealing the rule and replacing it with a more respectful industry solution. The rule was to be implemented in the coming weeks, following a Supreme Court ruling last week that gave the district courts jurisdiction.
Obama's rules on clean water, which would have limited the use of pollutants such as chemical fertilizers that could spill into small streams. Environmentalists, have assaulted the movement and promised to continue the administration. The clean water rule protects the water bodies that supply drinking water for one in three Americans" said Jon Devine, a senior lawyer with the Natural Resources Defense Council.
