Jesus is one with the Father. Philip said that who knew him, he also met the Father. Jesus came to Earth in order to show what God really is. By helping heal, comforting people at every turn, he showed what the Old Testament statement of God means: For I know what thoughts I have of you, says the Lord, thinking of peace, not of misery, to prepare you for the future and inspire hope. [Jer 29:11].
