What is the Gospel?

In the Garden of Eden, Satan lied to Adam and Eve and told them that they could be like God, pretending to be sovereign and decide for themselves what is true and false, good and evil, right and wrong (Genesis 3:1-6).
In man's treason against his maker he was cursed with sin and death (Romans 5:12).

Man was cursed with a sin nature, meaning that we are born into this world believing the lie Satan told Adam and Eve: that we have the right to rule ourselves and pretend to be little gods while we live in mutiny to our King (Ephesians 2:1-3).
The wages of sin - mutinous rebellion against our King and Maker - is death (Romans 6:23). This is why the bible calls the curse we are under “sin and death” (Genesis 3:17-19).

Despite some false claims tragically taught by American Evangelicalism, not all human beings are the children of God (John 1:12-13) nor are they all the objects of God's love (Psalm 5:4-6; Psalm 11:5). The Bible is clear that apart from full surrender to His Lordship (Luke 14:26-33), we are His enemies and the objects of His wrath (Romans 5:10).
Here are God's terms of peace:

If you will own your sin, and confess that you have lived your life pretending to be king (ruling over yourself, deciding for yourself what is right and wrong, true and false, good and evil - 1John 1:5-10), surrender yourself to His Lordship, and vow allegiance to your maker (Luke 14:26-33), rejecting all hope in yourself of being righteous before God (Isaiah 64:6; Job 14:4; Psalm 51:5; Jeremiah 13:23; John 3:3-7), then God will grant you mercy (John 6:37; Acts 11:18). This means that God will pardon your sin (Luke 24:46-48; Acts 5:31), and withhold the righteous judgment you deserve: eternity in Hell, justly suffering the penalty for your treason and rebellion against your Maker, God and King (Revelation 21:8; Proverbs 19:5,9; Matthew 25:41,46; Daniel 12:2; John 5:28-29).

The Bible tells us that the guilty will not go unpunished, that the judge who pardons the guilty is an abomination to the Lord (Proverbs 17:15; Exodus 23:7) and that God loves justice (Isaiah 61:8; Psalm 11:7; Psalm 33:5; Psalm 37:28). So how is it possible that God can give mercy to those who own their sin and surrender to His Lordship? This is where Jesus and the cross come in. Jesus, God the Son, came to earth and lived a perfect sinless life and out of love for all those who would surrender and trust in Him, He went to the cross (1Peter 3:18; 1Peter 2:22; Hebrews 7:26). On the cross, the bible tells us that God made him to be sin (2Corinthians 5:21). This means that God treated Him as if He had lived the sinner’s life of treason against God.

On the cross, God the Father poured out on God the Son the full punishment for the sins (Isaiah 53:10; Romans 8:32) of all the elect (Ephesians 1:4), those who would in time repent and believe in Jesus and His work on the cross (Acts 13:48; Romans 8:28-30). This is why God can legally and justly pardon all those who confess their rebellion and surrender their lives to His Lordship (Romans 3:26).

The Bible tells us that the message I have just shared with you is the aroma of life for those being saved. However, for those who are perishing it is the aroma of death (2Corinthians 2:15-16). My sincere hope is that your heart will be softened and that you will come to repentance and find life (and much more) in Christ Jesus.

If the prospect of peace with God fills you with joy and hope, I would like you know some even greater news. Not only does God pardon the repentant, and grant to them eternal life, He also adopts them into His family and lavishes on them the same love He has for Jesus (John 17:20-26). The Bible tells us that if you repent and believe, you are evidencing the work of God’s Spirit in you. This means that although you were dead, if you truly repent and surrender all to God in Christ, that God has made you a new creation. This is a miracle of resurrection power and it is the gift of God. You cannot earn or deserve this gift, it was done to you and it is all of grace (Ephesians 2:1-9).

Sort:

deciding for yourself what is right and wrong

Free will? Or is that only applicable when you are choosing Christianity?

Free will is actually part of the delusion of the fall. We believe we are free like God but truly we are not.

Has god ever wronged in your opinion? He has commanded for children and even animals to be killed, apolitical creatures, how can this be justified?

The answer is quite simple really. God has chosen a people from all eternity to be the object of His love. It is not based on their merit but rather according to God's good pleasure. So, His love is not based on any intrinsic attribute of virtue or anything of the sort. He grants a new heart one that submits to His righteousness amidst the Satanic lies of self-righteousness.

Gen 3:5
"For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

See man has a presumption that they can attain righteousness by their doing. They will receive their reward for no man is righteous. No, not one.

I liked my analogy from yesterday. It's kind of (but not exactly) like we're at a poker table. There's this one character. Somehow inexplicable He communicates that He indeed has the winning hand, the Royal Flush. The channel in which this is communicated is faith. No matter how good you think your hand is. It's not going to be good enough.

The soul that sins shall die. We're not talking merely overt deeds that man knows is wrong. No, Jesus showed us that the bar is much higher than that to the intentions of our heart. So, all it takes is one fleeting "no-no" thought and you're toast. But see where the card analogy fails is there is only one righteousness that is accepted by Him and this acceptance was affirmed by the resurrection. It is only the righteousness of His Son, who was obedient even unto death on the cross.

The only way is faith in His death. We are not saved by faith, however. No, we are saved by the object thereof. Again, that is His death in which His elect are baptized. A supernatural event that I surmise is beyond the comprehension of natural man. Only God can grant that you should believe and that would reveal He has reckoned His righteousness even to you. He is both the Author and the Finisher of faith.

God has never done wrong and yes He has commanded for children and animals to be killed.

For the creature to question the creator is absurd. The Creator can do no wrong for He is the very standard of what is right. Unless you are granted to approach the subject from this vantage point you will never understand the mercy and kindness of God.
