As the bible clearly speaks in Habakkuk 2:14: For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

As we progress in knowledge of the things of God, there is a need to constantly reevaluate our ideologies and purge them, that they may align with the word of God.

One of the characteristics of a healthy Christian life is that constantly, He/she must be in a process of constant learning, unlearning and relearning.

STATUS QUO QUESTIONED.

It is popular to hear whenever an altar call is made, to here the preacher say: IS THERE ANYONE WHO WOULD LOVE TO GIVE THEIR LIVES TO CHRIST? and I believe this statement in itself is scripturally incorrect.

HOW?

Lets establish that scripturally

John 10:10

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

From this scripture, Jesus testifies that He is the giver of life, in him was life and that life was the light of men. No where is scripture is it spelt out that man gives his life to Christ or that he even has any life to give.

Ephesians 2:1: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

The word to note here is dead.

Man was dead, more like a walking-corpse a living-dead. Even if he had any life to give it was worthless and wouldn't be worth a spec of dust to Jesus.

Man had no life to give and still has no life to give. Except that which was given to him by Christ.

Therefore, it would help the believers better if our clergymen help us edit their vocabulary and cause us to see, that coming to the altar to surrender for Christ life: is not a thing of pride, it's a privilege.

MAN CANNOT GIVE CHRIST LIFE. HE CAN ONLY RECEIVE LIFE FROM LIFE-ITSELF.......... CHRIST.
