I don't think that many people care about democracy, as long as their short term interests are handled.
Jim Marchant is the GOP nominee for Secretary of State in the swing-state of Nevada.
He's in the lead and will probably win.
He's an outspoken advocate for "stop the steal", and has publically claimed that the only reason that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer (House rep from probably the most democratic house district in America, and Senator from one of the most deep-blue states in America) win their respective elections by rigging them.
Quietly (and not so quietly), the Christian Nationalist / Fascist contingent of the GOP is putting their members in charge of elections.
I don't see how this can end with an intact democratic republic.
