Google Year in Search 2017 - What was Trending this year

Another year has gone by and we have survived. Like every year Google has listed the trends of this year and with only a few surprises it is pretty obvious what was on people's minds. Matt Lauer was the most searched person, Hurricane Irma being the most searched event, Meghan Markle, the royal bride to be was the most searched actor, and like every year iPhone was the most searched in tech with Bitcoin being the second most searched term after Hurricane Irma. Among the people we lost Tom Petty topped the list followed by Linkin Park's Chester Bennington and Soundgarden's Chris Cornell, both being good friends in real life.

Among films, IT leads the chart followed by Wonder Woman, Beauty and the Beast, Logan and Justice League with Ariana Grande being the most searched musician followed by Linkin Park and Lady Gaga. Despacito and Shape of You won the most searched songs category and Stranger Things leads the most searched TV show category followed by 13 reasons Why, Big Brother Brasil and finally Game of Thrones.
