I would like SOMEONE to analyze the cost — in dollars and cents — of this unauthorized spying. I pay a huge fee to my cellphone provider for data usage. How much of my data usage is unknown to me because it is in the background — collected by Facebook, Google, NSA, FBI, CIA? How much am I being charged for that? Why can’t I turn that off?

Think about the complaints of Verizon, et al, about all the data their customers are using. How they have to jack up the price of data plans because Average Joe is using so much data.

Think about the combined effect of gathering every call, text, and search on every person who has any kind of device — mobile phone, cable internet phone, laptop or desktop computer. Transmitting every keystroke on every device for every person — every minute of every day. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE WASTE OF BANDWIDTH!!!!

And our NSA does this to get — passwords? Can’t they get warrants?

We are, collectively, spending billions in a shamefully wasteful way and not one media outlet has ever noticed.
